Surf Life Saving Sydney Branch proudly represents the fifteen Surf Life Saving Clubs stretching from Sydney Harbour in the north to the Royal National Park in the south, covering clubs between North Bondi and Burning Palms, as well as the Sydney Branch Rescue Services Group.
Surf Life Saving Sydney (SLSS) acts as the central body for coordinating lifesaving operations, surf sports, and education in the Sydney area.
We endeavor to support our surf life saving clubs by managing a range of support services including rescue water craft, an offshore rescue boat, on-call duty and member support officers, as well as assist in the coordination of their club-based patrols. SLSS fosters a vibrant community of competitors and coaches that engage in surf sports events at all levels of competition.
Our dedicated team of trainers, assessors, and facilitators provide comprehensive training, ensuring our surf lifesavers are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to excel. We take pride in our Junior Development programs, nurturing over 7,000 future champions aged 5 to 13. This program serves as a key stepping stone in the journey of many of our surf lifesavers.
SLSS stands as a dynamic volunteer community and an emergency service powerhouse, with a proud force of over 20,000 members providing world-class water safety services to the Sydney community.
